Electricity consumption: APL signs the EcoWatt charter
As part of its CSR approach, APL has signed the EcoWatt charter and is committed to implementing a number of eco-friendly actions with a view to sustainably reducing its electricity consumption while limiting the risk of power cuts in France.
Supported by RTE and ADEME, EcoWatt is a scheme that enables French citizens, businesses and local authorities to adopt responsible energy consumption and thus contribute to ensuring a secure electricity supply for all. EcoWatt classifies electricity levels in real time, advises on the best practices to adopt in order to limit national electricity consumption, and indicates the periods when the French are called upon to reduce or defer their electricity consumption in order to avoid blackouts or reduce their duration.
By signing the EcoWatt charter, APL wishes to demonstrate its commitment to reducing its electricity consumption throughout the year by adopting a number of green actions, such as:
- Reducing electricity consumption during EcoWatt alert hours;
- Respecting heating temperature guidelines for occupied premises (19°C);
- Optimizing the use of heating in its premises, and in particular reducing the temperature when they are not occupied;
- Restricting the use of air conditioning.
Signing this charter also commits APL to raising its employees’ awareness of green actions in the workplace and at home to reduce energy consumption, such as switching off appliances on standby and unnecessary lighting, avoiding recharging mobile devices during EcoWatt alert hours, etc.
